Background
NHS Connecting for Health (CFH) is delivering the National Programme for IT to bring modern computer systems into the NHS which will improve patient care and services.
Over the next ten years, the National Programme for IT (NPfIT) will connect over 30,000 GPs in England to almost 300 hospitals and give patients access to their personal health and care information, transforming the way the NHS works.
As we move through the implementation stages of NPfIT, it is evident that the effectiveness of the systems will largely be dependant on the users. It is critical therefore that NHS Staff are equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to support their own use of new IT systems and services.
Benefits that will follow the successful implementation of NPfIT are significant, and include a patient electronic record providing important healthcare information to staff treating patients; it will also help deliver improved resource management, clinical governance and payment by results.
Our aim is to equip trainers with a high quality and credible NHS background combined with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet and exceed the CFH standards for trainers as set out in Trainer Standards, Prerequisites and Qualifications, ETD S 3.0.
Our target is to engage with trusts at a local level, providing a solution that will enhance the training and success of NPfIT.
Trainer Development Plan
We aim to develop a team of trainers that are fully skilled and qualified and have the prerequisite knowledge to successfully deliver NPfIT Training.
To build a team that meets NPfIT requirements Book a Trainer have identified two groups of individuals with desirable backgrounds and skill sets. They are:
For both groups the investment in training will be directly relevant to their existing knowledge and experience; with the subsequent trainer development addressing any identified shortfalls.
